Company Background
NVT Computing Ltd was formed in September 1988 by Stephen Park Brown to provide consultancy and design. Initially based in Glasgow, NVT quickly outgrew its original offices as staff and turnover increased. New premises were sought in Central Scotland which would allow easy access to clients and the motorway network in the central belt.
The primary focus of the company during the late 1980's was on installation of systems and supply of developed software. During this time NVT Computing also increased its capability in customer services as the industry moved from mainframe to desktop and networked technologies. NVT Computing won many new service contracts in the networked PC arena.
In 1992 NVT moved into new premises and the company was restructured to account for the diversification and potential growth of the business. A fundamental change occurred when NVT placed itself as primarily a hardware and software services company, customer driven, with a fast efficient customised service as its core proposition to its clients.
To give such service NVT has to ensure all of its staff are trained in the type of work expected of them and they are always up to date with new developments. NVT is thus a supporter of "Investors in People" (IIP) and has set aside time and resources to provide ongoing training to all staff during the time they spend with the company.
In 1995 NVT achieved BS EN ISO 9002 Certification and successfully made the transition from 9002 to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 in November 2003. This achievement means not only does NVT have accepted standards set out in written form, but also all involved must know the standards and comply with them.
In 1998 NVT also achieved IIP recognition and has achieved annual recognition since then.
Both IIP and BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accreditations are perceived as indicating quality and diligence of service, and it is beholden to all working within the NVT team these indicators of excellence are put into practice.
Continued successful expansion resulted in NVT Computing acquiring and relocating to Earn House in Bellshill in July 1997. This afforded NVT over 7500sq ft of workshop and storage facilities in addition to significantly larger administrative offices.
In April 2000, the company was delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal to open the Company Headquarters, and in particular our new Business Continuity Facility.

Be competitive
Innovate - Rewrite the Rules
Our Project, Service and Support Revenue has a combined value of £7.5million. Our focus is to support two key clients' needs - Business Solutions and IT Support services. Our experience tells us that technology is a business tool and like any other tool should have significant tangible benefit.
Much of our interaction with clients is free of technobabble. We will not use artificial jargon, or buzzwords where we can possibly avoid it. We offer an innovative, independent, and product neutral view to clients putting their business needs first. However, we do not lose sight of the fact that our clients may need or want to use market leading products and we would never compromise on functionality in this case.
Our primary aim is to wow our clients with what we offer, so they feel their investment is well worth it. When clients do engage us, they have high expectations...and are also prepared to pay to make sure those expectations are met.
